The Spanish Association of Leapmotor Dealerships (Asociación Española de Concesionarios Leapmotor) had a very short separate life: in 2026 it was integrated, together with Peugeot and Opel, into the new Spanish Association of Stellantis Dealerships (AECS).

Why Leapmotor is joining a common association

Leapmotor is a recent brand in Europe and its commercial development is tied to the Stellantis ecosystem. The integration of its dealer association with those of Peugeot and Opel reflects that business relationship.

What AECS solves

The new structure aims to give a common voice to dealerships from several of the group's brands and to pool resources. For a network that is still growing, belonging to a larger organisation can make it easier to access association experience and institutional representation.

The challenges of a new brand

Leapmotor dealerships also face particular challenges:

  • building brand awareness;

  • explaining a new technology to customers;

  • developing after-sales;

  • creating residual value;

  • generating a used car market;

  • learning which configurations and models sell fastest.

A common association does not remove these needs, but it can provide a structure from which to address them.

What a dealership should check

To find out about Leapmotor-specific bodies, services or committees, the current reference should be AECS. Pages that talk about an independent association may date from the period before the integration.

You can read more in the guide to AECS.

The relationship with AECOVI

AECOVI does not represent dealerships before a brand and therefore does not replace this association. Its role lies in another part of the business: used vehicles, digitalisation and learning between professionals. For a dealership with used car activity, it can be useful to compare practices with operators from other networks and with independent used car dealers, while keeping the brand association as the specific channel for representation.
