Stock purchasing and sourcing.
AECOVI (Asociación Española de Compraventas de Vehículos Independientes, the Spanish association of independent used vehicle dealers) is a free private initiative backed by Dealcar with a specific goal: to create a useful meeting point for professionals who buy and sell vehicles independently in Spain.
The approach is deliberately practical. AECOVI wasn't created to produce institutional statements or to represent the sector before public authorities. It was created so that one dealer can ask another how they're handling a tricky warranty, which stock channel works best for them, which portal brings them the most qualified leads or how they're dealing with a regulatory change that affects their day-to-day operations.
The goal is for every conversation to be useful. To avoid noise and maintain quality, access is reserved for vehicle trading professionals.
Rotation, margin and pricing.
Spain already has long-established and relevant automotive organisations. GANVAM has brought together dealerships, used car dealers, workshops and related businesses for more than 65 years.

Belonging to AECOVI does not imply being a Dealcar client. The community is conceived as an open gateway to the sector.

AECOVI doesn't aim to replace any of those organisations or compete with their services. It occupies a different space: a professional peer community.
The first difference is simplicity. Entry is free and the conversation happens where the professional already is: WhatsApp.
The second is the focus. AECOVI wants to talk less about the automotive industry in general and more about the problems of an independent dealership: how to buy better, sell sooner, reduce mistakes, protect margins and understand regulations.

Warranties, contracts and claims.
The first phase of AECOVI focuses on Spain. The model can evolve with online meetings, market research, surveys, downloadable resources, agreements and representation of common issues.
The priority, however, is simpler: to ensure that when a dealer has a doubt, they can talk to other professionals who understand exactly the problem.
Turnover, margin and pricing: how to set prices, when to lower them, how to calculate the real margin after all costs, which cars turn over best in each area.
Warranties, contracts and claims: how to manage after-sales warranties, what the law says, how to protect yourself contractually in difficult situations.
Tax, REBU and invoicing: the special margin scheme, when it applies, how to invoice correctly, which deductions apply.

Portals, website, marketing and lead generation: which portals work best, how to optimise listings, what the competition is doing, how to reduce cost per lead.
Financing, insurance and services: which finance companies work with independent dealers, how to sell extended warranties, which insurance products make sense to offer.
Tools and technology: what software others use, how they manage their CRM, how they automate publishing or document management.
Regulatory changes: VeriFactu, e-invoicing, emissions regulation, ZBE (low-emission zone) restrictions and any legal change that affects the business.
Taxation, REBU (second-hand special scheme) and billing.
AECOVI's initial meeting point is WhatsApp. The reason is practical: it's the tool the sector already uses every day and it keeps the friction of taking part to a minimum. There's no need to learn a new platform or spend time creating a profile on a network you don't normally use.
The community has different channels by topic, so each conversation reaches the people who are interested without overwhelming those who don't need it at that moment. Access is reserved for verified industry professionals to keep the quality of conversations high and avoid sales noise.
Joining is simple: register with your name, company and phone number, get your professional profile verified and gain immediate access to the community.
Portals, websites, marketing and lead generation.
AECOVI is backed by Dealcar explicitly and transparently. Dealcar provides the structure, knowledge of the sector and the ability to create content, resources and events. In return, AECOVI gives Dealcar reach, reputation and long-term relationships with professionals in the sector.
That relationship has a clear principle: AECOVI has to be useful even for someone who never signs up for Dealcar. A community that the sector sees as valuable in its own right is precisely what gives it credibility and what lets Dealcar earn trust naturally, without needing to sell in every interaction.
Dealcar works with more than 750 used car dealers in Spain and develops dedicated software for used car dealerships that connects stock, CRM, portal publishing, website and administrative processes. That closeness to the sector makes it possible to identify recurring problems and turn them into guides, conversations and useful resources for the community.
Being a member of AECOVI doesn't mean being a Dealcar customer or signing up for any service.
Financing, insurance and sales-related services.
The first difference is the barrier to entry. Joining a traditional association involves a fee, a membership process and, in many cases, minimum commitment periods. AECOVI is free to join with immediate access.
The second is focus. AECOVI doesn't try to cover the entire automotive sector or represent franchised dealerships, used car dealers, workshops and manufacturers all at once. Its focus is very narrow: the independent dealer and the specific problems of their business model.
The third is format. The conversation happens where professionals already are (WhatsApp), not on a platform you have to learn to use. That shortens the time to first value: from day one you can ask questions and get answers from other professionals.
The fourth is content. AECOVI and Dealcar publish guides, comparisons and resources that are available to any professional, whether or not they're a member of the community. The goal is to build a useful library for the sector, not just for members.

Tools and technology to manage the business.
AECOVI's first phase focuses on Spain and on building a base of active dealers with useful conversations. From there, the community can evolve with online and in-person meetups between professionals, market studies and surveys with real sector data, downloadable resources such as templates, checklists and guides, agreements with suppliers that bring real value to members, and expansion into other European markets once there's critical mass in Spain.
The priority in this phase is simpler: when a dealer has a question, they can find another professional who has solved that same problem and is willing to share how they did it.
What to check before joining
Before deciding, review the membership category that applies to you, which services are included, which resources are restricted to members, and what actual use you will make of them. In an association, the value lies not just in "belonging", but in using the information, advice, and network.
AECOVI is the free community that Dealcar supports for professionals in the sector. A space where more than 300 used car dealers share real experiences, solve day-to-day questions and discover business opportunities with fellow professionals.

Frequently asked questions
Do you have to be a Dealcar customer to join AECOVI?
No. The community is designed for dealership professionals regardless of the software they use. Dealcar promotes the initiative, but access to AECOVI does not require signing up for Dealcar.
Is there a fee for AECOVI?
The initial model is free for verified professionals. If additional services are created in the future, they should be explained separately and transparently.
Does AECOVI replace GANVAM or ANCOVE?
No. AECOVI meets a different need: a professional community among independent dealers. GANVAM and ANCOVE offer institutional representation, legal advice and operational services that AECOVI doesn't aim to replicate. A professional can be in AECOVI and also be a member of GANVAM or ANCOVE without any conflict.
What are the criteria for verifying that someone is an industry professional?
The verification process checks that the applicant works professionally in buying and selling vehicles. The exact eligibility criteria are explained during registration.
